Scientists hunt for hidden cause of Kids' gut pain

NCT ID NCT05916274

Summary

This study aimed to understand why inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) like Crohn's and colitis are often more severe in children. Researchers tested the idea that DNA leaking from cells might trigger and worsen gut inflammation through a specific biological pathway. They analyzed blood, stool, and tissue samples from 40 children, both with and without IBD, to look for clues that could lead to new future treatments.
