Blood injection may speed healing after wisdom tooth removal
NCT ID NCT07257328
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether applying a substance made from a patient's own blood (i-PRF) to the empty tooth socket after wisdom tooth removal helps it heal better than standard care. Thirty-two healthy adults who needed both lower wisdom teeth removed took part. Each person had one side treated with i-PRF and the other side treated normally, so healing could be compared directly within the same person.
