Heart rate clues could uncover hidden sleep apnea in hypertensive patients

NCT ID NCT07603583

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026

Summary

This study looks at the connection between high blood pressure and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) using heart rate variability (HRV), a simple measure of how your heart responds to stress. Researchers will monitor 100 adults with high blood pressure who are at risk for OSA using a 24-hour heart monitor and an overnight sleep test. The goal is to see if HRV can help predict sleep apnea severity and track how well treatments like CPAP work.
