New scanner could sharpen cancer radiation, reduce side effects

NCT ID NCT06187103

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new imaging tool called HyperSight that takes clearer, faster pictures during radiation therapy for cancers of the head/neck, breast, lungs, upper GI, or pelvis. The goal is to see if these images are good enough to help doctors plan treatment more precisely, potentially reducing damage to healthy tissue. About 40 adults receiving radiation will participate, and the study focuses on image quality, not on curing the disease.
