Can pressurized oxygen ease lingering concussion woes?
NCT ID NCT05173818
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) can help people with ongoing symptoms after a mild concussion, such as headaches, memory problems, and fatigue. Twenty adults with symptoms lasting 3 months to 5 years after their injury were randomly assigned to receive either real or fake (sham) treatments. The goal was to see if the therapy improves thinking skills and reduces a brain-damage marker in the blood.
