Gel shield tested to make prostate cancer radiation safer

NCT ID NCT05323747

Summary

This study tested whether a special gel could protect the rectum from radiation during prostate cancer treatment. Doctors placed the gel between the prostate and rectum in 20 men before their radiation therapy. They then used CT scans to measure if the gel successfully reduced the amount of radiation reaching the rectum.
