NCT ID NCT07124650
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether coating the breathing tube with either hydrocortisone ointment or lidocaine solution can lessen sore throat, hoarseness, and coughing after thyroid or parathyroid surgery. About 764 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. Researchers will check pain and voice changes right after surgery, at 24 hours, and at 3 days to see which approach works better.
