Could embryo glue help more IVF babies be born?

NCT ID NCT06492785

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two embryo transfer liquids—one with a high amount of hyaluronic acid (a natural 'sticky' substance) and one with a low amount—to see which leads to more live births. About 858 women having a single embryo transfer will take part. The goal is to find out if the high-hyaluronic-acid medium really improves IVF outcomes.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

hyaluronic acid (in embryo transfer medium)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could improve the chance of a live birth after a single embryo transfer in IVF.

What could go wrong

This is a medium-scale trial, but the difference between high and low hyaluronic acid may be small, and results may not apply to all fertility patients.
