First seen Jul 30, 2026 · Last updated Aug 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This trial tests whether placing a gel containing hyaluronic acid and melatonin into the socket after impacted wisdom tooth removal can reduce pain, swelling, and speed bone healing. Forty adults aged 18–35 will receive either the active gel or a plain gel foam. Pain and swelling are checked at days 1, 3, and 7, and bone density is measured with a CT scan at 6 months.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to improve recovery after wisdom tooth surgery.
