New antibody HT31-1 enters human trials for ARDS
NCT ID NCT07449572
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial tests a new antibody called HT31-1 in 24 healthy volunteers to see if it is safe and how the body processes it. The antibody targets a protein linked to inflammation in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a severe lung condition often caused by infections. If successful, this study will guide future testing in ARDS patients.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
HT31-1 (a lab-made antibody targeting citrullinated histone H3)
What this could lead to
If safe and effective, this could lead to a new treatment for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) caused by infections.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial in only 24 healthy people, so it may not work in patients or could have unexpected side effects.
