HPV vaccine may stop precancerous lesions from returning

NCT ID NCT07431502

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether the HPV vaccine can prevent the return of high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) in people who have already been treated for them. About 984 adults aged 18–55 with HPV-related HSIL of the cervix, vulva, vagina, penis, or anus will receive either the vaccine or a placebo. The goal is to see if vaccination reduces the chance of a new HSIL at the same site.
