New hospital program aims to keep opioid patients in treatment after discharge
NCT ID NCT07568847
First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether completing the methadone clinic sign-up process while still in the hospital helps people with opioid use disorder stay connected to treatment after they leave. About 1,440 adults in four hospitals will either get usual care or a program where hospital staff handle the intake before discharge. The goal is to see if this approach increases the number of patients who visit a methadone clinic within 7 days and stay in treatment for 30 days.
