First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a 10-week educational program called HomeStyles-China, designed to help Chinese American adults improve their diet, increase physical activity, and reduce risk factors for heart disease and diabetes. Researchers will enroll 400 participants and measure changes in eating habits, exercise, blood sugar, waist size, and gut bacteria. The goal is to see if a culturally tailored program can lead to lasting health improvements.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
educational program (HomeStyles-China)
What this could lead to
If successful, this program could offer a practical, culturally tailored way to help Chinese Americans lower their risk for heart disease and diabetes.
What could go wrong
This is a behavioral intervention, not a drug, so results depend on participants sticking with the program. The study is relatively small (400 people) and early-stage, so findings may not apply to all Chinese Americans.
