Could an electric suit ease MS stiffness and clumsiness?
NCT ID NCT07202195
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether a full-body electrical stimulation suit, used at home, can reduce muscle stiffness (spasticity) and coordination problems (ataxia) in people with multiple sclerosis. Seventy participants will either use the suit for six weeks or receive usual care alone. The goal is to see if the suit improves hand and leg function enough to make daily activities easier.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- electrical stimulation suit (EXOPULSE MOLLII)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a non-drug, home-based option to help people with MS manage muscle stiffness and poor coordination, improving daily function.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial (70 people) testing a device, not a drug. The results may not apply to everyone with MS, and the suit may not work for all symptoms or could be inconvenient to use daily.
