New study aims to make substance use screening fairer for HIV patients
NCT ID NCT06682468
First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to screen for substance use disorders in people with HIV using an online patient portal, instead of only during clinic visits. The goal is to make screening easier and more accessible, especially for those who may face barriers. About 900 adults with HIV from one clinic will take part. The study focuses on improving how screening and referrals to treatment are done, not on providing a new treatment itself.
