New shot could shield drug users from HIV

Summary

This study tests a long-acting injectable HIV prevention medication (cabotegravir) in 100 adults who inject drugs and are at risk for HIV. Participants receive the shot along with support services. The goal is to see if people stick with this prevention method over 7 months.
