First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at whether Hiprex, a medicine that turns into formaldehyde in the bladder, can help women aged 50 to 85 who get frequent urinary tract infections (UTIs). Researchers measured formaldehyde levels in urine and tracked how many infections occurred over a year. The goal was to see if Hiprex reduces the need for antibiotics and lowers infection rates.
