Hip fracture risk linked to muscle balance, not just overall muscle loss
NCT ID NCT07443046
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 79 older adults with hip fractures to see if the balance of specific muscles around the hip affects the type of fracture. Researchers used CT scans to measure muscle areas and found that regional muscle balance may be more important than overall muscle loss. The goal is to better understand fracture causes and improve prevention and recovery strategies.
