Scientists use High-Tech camera to peek at eye cells in unprecedented detail

NCT ID NCT01866371

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026

Summary

This study uses a special camera to take extremely detailed pictures of the retina (the back part of the eye) in people with and without eye diseases like Stargardt's, retinitis pigmentosa, and age-related macular degeneration. Researchers want to see how individual cells in the retina change over time. The goal is to better understand these diseases, not to treat them directly. About 600 people aged 7 and older will participate.
