Nerve block after hernia surgery may speed recovery

NCT ID NCT07509957

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a nerve block called an erector spinae plane block (ESPB), given after inguinal hernia surgery, can improve recovery quality, reduce pain, and help people get back to their daily activities sooner. About 60 adults having hernia repair will be randomly assigned to receive the block or standard pain care. Researchers will measure recovery scores, pain levels, and how long it takes to return to normal life up to 30 days after surgery.
