Pomegranate and neem mouthwashes take on chlorhexidine in schoolchildren oral health showdown
NCT ID NCT07309679
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compared two herbal mouthwashes (pomegranate peel extract and neem extract) against the standard chlorhexidine mouthwash in 156 school children aged 8-12. The goal was to see if the natural options could reduce plaque, gum inflammation, and harmful bacteria just as well, but with fewer side effects like tooth staining. Results will show whether herbal rinses are a good alternative for daily oral care in kids.
