Timing is everything: finding the safest moment for blood thinners after a stroke

NCT ID NCT06753786

Summary

This study aims to find the best and safest time to start a blood-thinning medication (heparin) in patients who have had a brain bleed caused by high blood pressure. Researchers want to know if starting the drug within the first two days or waiting until the third day is better at preventing dangerous blood clots in the legs or lungs, while also being less likely to cause more bleeding in the brain. They will compare these two timing strategies in 200 patients to see which one offers the best balance of benefits and risks.
