First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a helmet or a facemask is better at helping people breathe when their oxygen levels are very low. Twenty adults with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure took part, and each tried both methods to see which one worked better. The goal was to measure how hard the lungs had to work and how much air they could hold, without offering a treatment or cure.
