First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study is exploring whether certain Helicobacter bacteria (like H. pylori) are more common in people with biliary tract cancers than in those with non-cancerous gallbladder conditions. Researchers will test tissue samples from 250 participants, including cancer patients, people with benign gallbladder disease, and healthy liver donors. The goal is to see if these bacteria might play a role in causing these cancers.
