Can a hot sauna and cold plunge chill out depression?
NCT ID NCT06263738
Summary
This study is testing whether a single session of whole-body heat therapy, with or without a follow-up cold water plunge, can help reduce symptoms of depression. It will involve about 112 adults currently experiencing depression, who will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups. Researchers will measure changes in depression, anxiety, and quality of life over two weeks to see if the cold plunge adds any extra benefit.
