Summary
This study is testing whether a single session of whole-body heating, with or without a cold water plunge, can reduce symptoms of depression. Researchers will recruit 162 adults aged 18-65 who currently have depressive symptoms. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either heat therapy alone or heat therapy followed by a cold plunge, and their mood will be assessed before treatment and again at 1 and 2 weeks after.
