Hot and cold treatment shows promise for depression relief

Summary

This study looks at whether a single session of whole-body heat therapy, with or without a cold water plunge, can reduce symptoms of depression. Researchers will enroll 162 adults aged 18-65 who currently have depressive symptoms. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive heat alone or heat plus a cold plunge, and their mood will be checked before treatment and again at 1 and 2 weeks after.
