Heart waves study: could your pulse predict blocked arteries?
NCT ID NCT06734247
First seen Apr 28, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 28, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether measuring the stiffness of arteries with a simple device (pulse wave velocity) and using computer analysis could improve the prediction of significant coronary artery disease in people with chest pain or shortness of breath. The study planned to enroll 156 adults aged 30-69 who were already scheduled for a heart CT scan. The goal was to see if adding this non-invasive test to standard risk factors (like age and sex) could better identify those with moderate-to-severe blockages.
