Heart scans reveal hidden gender gaps in valve disease
NCT ID NCT06780241
Summary
This study aims to understand how heart valve disease affects men and women differently using advanced heart scans. Researchers will analyze detailed heart images from 200 adults with moderate to severe valve problems to identify patterns that might explain why women often have worse symptoms and outcomes despite appearing to have healthier hearts on standard tests. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to more personalized treatment guidelines in the future.
