Heart MRI may unlock secrets of stiff heart failure
NCT ID NCT07326605
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a detailed heart MRI can give doctors extra clues about how patients with a type of heart failure (HFpEF) will do over time. Researchers will scan 3,000 patients and 500 healthy volunteers, then track who dies or is hospitalized for heart failure for up to 3 years. The goal is to see if new MRI measurements, like heart energy use and pressure-volume loops, are better than standard tests at predicting serious outcomes. No drugs or treatments are being tested.
