Heart MRI spots hidden damage in kids with cancer and sepsis
NCT ID NCT05930418
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This pilot study looked at whether a heart MRI can safely detect hidden heart issues in children with cancer who have had sepsis. Seven participants aged 9 to 25 were scanned within 10 days of their sepsis episode. The goal was to see if this approach is feasible and to estimate how often heart inflammation or dysfunction occurs after sepsis, which could guide future heart failure treatment.
