Doctors test if a checklist for water pills makes heart failure care safer

NCT ID NCT03892148

Summary

This study tested if using a specific, step-by-step plan for adjusting water pills (diuretics) is better than doctors' usual judgment for adults hospitalized with worsening chronic heart failure. Researchers compared the two approaches in 299 patients to see which one was more effective at removing excess fluid and safer for the kidneys. The goal was to find a more reliable way to manage this common hospital treatment.
