Can a supercharged lifestyle plan beat standard heart care?
NCT ID NCT00756379
Summary
This study tests whether a comprehensive program of lifestyle changes, medication, and special heart scans (PET imaging) works better than standard medical care alone for people with or at high risk for heart disease. Over 1,000 participants were randomly assigned to one of the two approaches and followed for up to 10 years. The goal is to see if the intensive program leads to fewer heart attacks, deaths, and procedures compared to current standard care.
