Can hearing loss explain why Alzheimer's patients struggle to find words?

NCT ID NCT03638323

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This completed pilot study looked at 46 older adults with Alzheimer's disease to see if age-related hearing loss is linked to trouble finding words. Participants took a computer test to measure word-finding ability and answered a hearing questionnaire. The goal was to better understand how hearing loss might affect language problems in Alzheimer's, not to test a treatment.
