First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study follows 56 young adults who have a genetic condition that raises their cancer risk. After they graduate from pediatric care at St. Jude, researchers track whether they find adult doctors and continue regular cancer screenings over 8 years. Participants fill out surveys at set times to share their experiences and any barriers they face.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could reveal what helps or hinders young adults with cancer risk in staying on top of their health after leaving pediatric care.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study with only 56 participants, so findings may not apply to everyone. It tracks outcomes but does not test a treatment.
