Can a smartphone app help frail heart patients get stronger?
NCT ID NCT07330882
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new health management program for people with coronary heart disease who also have frailty (weakness, low energy). The program uses a mobile app to guide exercise and healthy habits, with support from a cardiac rehab center. Researchers will enroll 200 participants to see if the program improves walking distance, quality of life, and frailty scores over time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
behavioral intervention (exercise rehabilitation and health management via mobile app)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide an effective, scalable way to help people with heart disease and frailty stay active and improve their quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage study (200 participants) focused on feasibility and short-term outcomes. Results may not apply to all patients or settings, and long-term benefits are not yet proven.
