Ultrasound vs. MRI: which is better for catching liver cancer early?

NCT ID NCT02551250

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 211 people with liver cirrhosis to see which screening method works better for detecting liver cancer: an ultrasound every 6 months or an MRI once a year. Participants received both tests, and researchers measured how often each test correctly found cancer. The goal is to find the most effective way to catch liver cancer early in high-risk patients.
