New stretching combo could ease back pain by boosting flexibility

NCT ID NCT06888895

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether combining passive and active hamstring stretching improves flexibility more than passive stretching alone in people with chronic low back pain. Ninety adults with tight hamstrings will be randomly assigned to one of the two stretching groups. Flexibility, stiffness, and pelvic tilt are measured before and immediately after a single session. The goal is to find better rehabilitation strategies for managing low back pain.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a more effective stretching technique to improve flexibility and movement in people with chronic low back pain.

What could go wrong
