Spinal stretch may unlock relief for stubborn back pain

NCT ID NCT07730463

First seen Jul 28, 2026 · Last updated Jul 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This trial tests whether adding ELDOA stretching — a technique that targets the spine and surrounding tissues — to standard physiotherapy can reduce pain and disability in adults with chronic low back pain and a condition called dural hypomobility (tightness in the spinal nerve lining). Participants will receive either standard physiotherapy alone or standard physiotherapy plus ELDOA stretching three times a week for six weeks. The study measures changes in pain, daily function, and nerve mobility to see if the extra stretching makes a meaningful difference.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
ELDOA stretching (a targeted spinal decompression and neural mobility technique) combined with standard physiotherapy
What this could lead to
If effective, adding ELDOA stretching to standard physiotherapy could offer a simple, non-drug way to reduce pain and improve mobility in people with chronic low back pain linked to dural tightness.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 48 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. ELDOA stretching is a specific technique that requires a trained therapist, and its benefits over standard care alone are not yet proven.
