Spinal stretch may unlock relief for stubborn back pain
NCT ID NCT07730463
First seen Jul 28, 2026 · Last updated Jul 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether adding ELDOA stretching — a technique that targets the spine and surrounding tissues — to standard physiotherapy can reduce pain and disability in adults with chronic low back pain and a condition called dural hypomobility (tightness in the spinal nerve lining). Participants will receive either standard physiotherapy alone or standard physiotherapy plus ELDOA stretching three times a week for six weeks. The study measures changes in pain, daily function, and nerve mobility to see if the extra stretching makes a meaningful difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- ELDOA stretching (a targeted spinal decompression and neural mobility technique) combined with standard physiotherapy
- What this could lead to
- If effective, adding ELDOA stretching to standard physiotherapy could offer a simple, non-drug way to reduce pain and improve mobility in people with chronic low back pain linked to dural tightness.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 48 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. ELDOA stretching is a specific technique that requires a trained therapist, and its benefits over standard care alone are not yet proven.
