NCT ID NCT04475510

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people aged 60 or younger who had a stroke caused by a hole in the heart (PFO) can safely stop taking blood thinners one year after the hole is closed. About 100 participants will be followed to see if stopping medication leads to new strokes or brain lesions. The goal is to reduce long-term medication use without increasing risk.
