First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at whether Helicobacter pylori, a common stomach infection, is linked to unhealthy blood fat levels that can increase heart disease risk. Researchers measured a special heart risk score called the Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) in 300 adults. The goal was to see if people with the infection had worse AIP scores, suggesting a possible connection between the bug and heart health.
