Scientists hunt for gene clues in gynecologic tumors
NCT ID NCT03420118
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study aims to learn how gene and protein changes in gynecologic tumors affect cancer behavior and treatment response. Researchers will collect tumor tissue and blood samples from 1,000 people with ovarian, uterine, cervical, or other gynecologic cancers. The goal is to better understand why some people respond to targeted therapies while others do not, and to improve future cancer care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this research could help doctors better predict which treatments work best for different people with gynecologic cancers.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It collects samples to learn more, so there is no direct benefit to participants. Results may take years to influence care.
