Gut check: can your stomach predict Parkinson's?
NCT ID NCT07567794
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how the nerves linking the gut and brain may play a role in Parkinson's disease. Researchers will compare people with Parkinson's, those at risk, and healthy volunteers using tests like stool samples, X-rays, and colon exams. The goal is to understand the gut-brain connection better, not to test a treatment. About 250 adults aged 21 to 80 will take part for up to 2 years.
