Gum surgery showdown: which technique covers more exposed tooth root?

NCT ID NCT06037161

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This study compares two surgical techniques to treat receding gums on the lower front teeth. About 36 adults with gum recession will receive either a standard method (coronally advanced flap with connective tissue graft) or a newer method (gingival pedicle split thickness flap with connective tissue graft). The goal is to see which technique covers more exposed tooth root and improves gum tissue quality over 6 months.
