Dental implant showdown: which placement method wins for accuracy?

NCT ID NCT07174791

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study compares two techniques for placing dental implants in people with no teeth: fully guided (using a surgical guide) and partially guided. Sixteen participants will receive implants in both jaws, and researchers will measure how accurate the implant positions are and how well the final teeth fit. The goal is to see which method leads to better results for long-lasting dental work.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help dentists choose the best method for placing dental implants, leading to better-fitting and longer-lasting teeth replacements.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 16 participants. Results may not apply to everyone, and the main focus is on measurement accuracy, not long-term health outcomes.
