Experimental cell therapy targets tough blood cancers and anemia
NCT ID NCT07205315
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase study is testing a new cell therapy called GT801 in 28 adults with relapsed or hard-to-treat B-cell blood cancers (like leukemia and lymphoma) or autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA). The therapy uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to attack CD19-positive cells. The main goals are to check safety and see if the treatment shrinks tumors or controls the anemia.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
GT801 Injection (a cell therapy made from the patient's own immune cells, engineered to target CD19-positive cells)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for patients with hard-to-treat B-cell blood cancers and autoimmune hemolytic anemia.
What could go wrong
This is a very early (Phase 1) trial with only 28 participants, so it is too soon to know if the treatment is safe or effective. Cell therapies can cause serious side effects like cytokine release syndrome.
