NCT ID NCT05681299

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing how growth hormone and liraglutide (a diabetes drug) affect appetite, energy use, and blood sugar in healthy adults and those with growth hormone deficiency. Forty participants will receive each treatment or placebo for 21 days, with blood tests and body measurements taken. The goal is to understand how these hormones work together, not to treat a disease directly.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

growth hormone and liraglutide

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help explain how these hormones regulate appetite and metabolism, potentially guiding future treatments for obesity or hormone deficiencies.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study (40 participants) focused on biological markers, not clinical outcomes. Results may not translate to real-world benefits or apply to broader populations.
