First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether giving growth hormone to children with short bowel syndrome could help them reduce or stop needing IV nutrition. Fourteen children aged 3-18 who had been on IV nutrition for at least 3 years took part. The results will show if the hormone improves intestinal absorption and allows some children to be weaned off IV support.
