Mind over ankle: mental rehearsal may boost stability
NCT ID NCT07376915
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether a technique called Graded Motor Imagery (GMI) — a series of mental exercises that involve thinking about and visualizing ankle movements — can improve pain, stiffness, strength, and balance in people with chronic ankle instability. About 48 adults (half with unstable ankles, half healthy) will participate in a single session. Researchers will measure changes right after the session to see if this mind-based approach offers immediate benefits.
