New study tests personalised care to combat brain fog in Graves' disease

NCT ID NCT06309316

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a person-centred care (PCC) programme, delivered by phone and online, can help people with Graves' disease feel better mentally and return to work. 220 adults with first-time Graves' disease will be randomly assigned to receive either usual care or usual care plus PCC for 12-18 months. The main goal is to see if PCC improves self-efficacy and reduces sick leave after 3 months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
person-centred care (PCC) via phone and web platform
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a practical, non-drug way to reduce mental fatigue and sick leave for people with Graves' disease, and may be applied to other conditions.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial testing a behavioural intervention, not a drug. The effect may be modest, and results may not apply to all patients.
